2009 Changes in Ventana Framesets
29ers:
El Rey gets a bit slacker head angle, has 100mm rear travel, quad bearings, heavy duty swingarm, Fox RP23 rear shock, and is designed around a F29 x 100 Fox fork (501mm a-c, 44mm offset).
El Capitan rear travel gets pushed to 5” (120mm), quad bearings, Fox RP23 rear shock, and is designed around a F29 x 120 Fox fork (521mm a-x, 44mm offset).
650b:
El Bastardo, new for ’09, 650b (27 ½”) wheel size, 140mm (5.5”) rear travel, quad bearings, Fox RP23 rear shock and is designed around a White Brothers WB130 650b fork. Handles like a big wheel 29er, pedals and accelerates like a 26er. With geometry tailored specifically for this wheel size. Standard colors are White and Ferrari Red.
29/26 69er:
Inspired by our own Dreamride F-69, El Chucho, new for ’09, gets the best of both worlds with the monster truck rolling stability of a 29” front wheel and the gearing, handling characteristics, and long travel of a 26” rear wheel. Comes with 140mm (5.5”) rear travel, quad bearings, Fox RP23 rear shock, and is a ripping AM bike when used with a F29 x 120 Fox fork (521mm a-x, 44mm offset). Can also be run as a more XC capable bike with a F29 x 100 Fox fork (501mm a-c, 44mm offset). Standard colors are Cosmic Gray and Grinch Green.
26ers:
El Saltamontes geometry is unchanged for ’09, but now comes standard with quad bearings and Fox RP23 shock and is designed around a Fox 100mm fork (571mm a-c, 39mm offset).
El Ciclon gets rear travel bumped up to a full 140mm (5.5”) with a new rocker design, quad bearings, a switch to a 2 ¼” stroke Fox RP23 rear shock, and is designed around a Fox 140mm fork (511mm a-c, 39mm offset).
X-5 gets rear travel bumped up to a full 140mm (5.5”) with a new rocker design, quad bearings, a switch to a 2 ¼” stroke Fox RP23 rear shock, and is designed around a Fox 140mm fork (511mm a-c, 39mm offset).
El Terremoto gets rear travel increased to a full 160mm (6.35”) with a newly designed rocker, heavy duty swingarm, quad bearings, and Fox RP23 rear shock standard and is designed around a Fox 160mm fork (545mm a-c, 37mm offset).
La Bruja Geometry and specs are unchanged for ’09.
El Cuervo, while travel and geometry is unchanged for ’09, We have made some refinement to tighten up the chassis. The left side plate shock access port has been beefed up, additional side clearance has been added between the swingarm yoke and side plates, and a bonded and pinned steel pivot boss at the main pivot reinforces swingarm wear point.
