Conversion Kits for Dreamride Special Edition
Ventana El Saltamontes Bikes
This conversion kit is for XDreamTrail, XDreamride or long travel SuperEgo Edition El Saltamontes bikes to enable quick changeover to a much lighter rig utilizing your current front triangle, rear swingarm and shockstays, headset, seatpost, saddle, front derailleur, crank and bottom bracket. All other parts that make up the complete bike are in the kit, prepared and ready for quick installation. If parts in the kit are redundant in your current set up, we will adjust the kit to your personal bike. This kit includes all you will need to turn your monster trailbike into a 24 to 26 pound cross country racer IN A HURRY. The swap is for those trips into the rockies, for cross country racing, or any situation that requires lighter weight, a lower bottom bracket and less travel.
The kit includes Ventana's four or five inch rockers with quad bearings and a Fox Float RL rear shock. Our SuperEgo wheelset is tuned for less travel and greatly reduces the weight of the bike with Mavic 317 or 219 rims, DT Competition or Supercomp spokes (depends on your weight and riding style), Chris King ISO hubs, XTR cassette, rim tape, colored alloy nipples, and Salsa skewers. The wheels are custom built and color-keyed for your specific bike. We suggest opting for a different color than your current set up, just to keep things interesting. The kit also includes a Marzocchi Marathon front fork with cut steerer, installed star nut and front brake caliper with required machining of the brake bosses, and an assortment of Chris King stem spacers. Magura Marta brakes are standard. Marta SL brakes are optional at an additional charge. There is a set of grippy, light kevlar-beaded WTB Motoraptor 2.1 tires with Salsa Superlite tubes. There are many tire choices available. The cockpit includes a feathery Answer Pro-Taper carbon handlebar and a slightly longer Thomson stem with the option for an even lighter and more shock absorbing Easton magnesium stem at addtional charge. The kit is topped off by the lightest shiftihg system in the biz, SRAM X.0 shorty shifters, an X.0 long cage derailleur and a set of derailleur housings pre-cut for your bike. The kit is shipped, ready to install with your allen wrench set, cable cutters, pliers and maybe a block of wood and a hammer to push the headset's top race over the fork steerer. Instructions on installation are in the DSE client section of the website. Installation is further enhanced if you purchase your convertable kit as part of an original purchase.

It is fair to say I was incredibly curious (how could it be better?) and just a bit nervous (some reasonable coin) on this conversion. Well fuck the money this bike is all good. The green is even more fitting & perfect now that I have experienced the true chameleon nature of the El Saltamontes. Officically, I figure she lost about 5 lbs. now weighing a few feathers under 26. I loved putting it together. I love the new colors (the wheel set is so sweet), and I am still gushing all over myself thinking about the ride. We are not offering this conversion to the general public. It is only available to DSE clients who purchase, or have purchased, an XDreamTrail, XDreamride or long travel SuperEgo Edition bike based on the Ventana El Saltamontes or Dreamride Fully frame.
