Dreamride F-Series Bicycles
Every Mutant is different, but some things are tried and true. We use current Shimano and SRAM drivetrain components with ten speed rear cogsets and a very wide range of gearing possibilities. Tip top end builds get Moots stems and seatposts. Mid-range builds get Thomson stems and seatposts. Forks and wheelsets vary with wheel sizes. We build the best wheels possible, always with custom modified Chris King hubsets, and we try to maintain a few matched color sets in stock. We always use Chris King headsets. Saddles are generally WTB with ti rails, but you may substitute Fizik, Brooks or Selle Italia. We use top end forks from Fox and Marzocchi for Mutants with 29 and 26 inch front wheels. Magura forks are an option in the 26 inch wheel category. For Mutants with 650B front wheels, we use White Brothers forks. Prices may vary slightly up or down depending on fork choice.
Prices includes parts, labor, hardshell flight shipping case and UPS ground shipment to your door (within the continental United States). NO TAX OUT OF UTAH.
F-Series ClimbMAX ~ $8795
This is the supreme Dreamride parts pick for racing and/or simply leaving others behind. 23.5 to 27.5 pounds, depending on rider weight and use. Weight limit 200 pounds. The lighter you are the lighter the bike can be. Includes custom sized and detailed frame with Fox RP3 rear shock. Travel settings are dependent on chosen wheel sizes, taking into consideration your riding style. The ClimbMAX includes Moots titanium stem and seatpost! FSA carbon fiber or high end aluminum riser bars, depending on weight of the rider and type of use. Transmission components are current XTR or SRAM XX.O. For lightest weight, cosmetics, personal preference and/or best performance, we may combine the two groups. Dreamride-built wheels include Chris King hubs with thru-axles front (20mm) and rear. Standard King front and rear axles are used for lighter versions with smaller 26 inch wheels when combined with MFox RLC or Magura Durin fork. DT spoke gauges are chosen from rider weight, riding style and terrain use. We use Mavic or DT rims that suit your weight and riding style. Brakes are a customized Magura Marta or Louise BAT (set up for your personal weight and riding needs). Cranks are XTR or FSA K-Force Lite carbon. Saddle is a titanium-railed WTB Pure-V or Pure-V Stealth. We use Torrelli compressionless cables. Standard grips are Oury lock-on. "It is easy to see the attention to detail and no-compromise construction, and you may know about the time-tested parts combos that flow together like braided hair, but do you know how it happens or where the knowledge needed to complete the task comes from?
"I started tinkering with old cruisers at seven years of age in 1956. In the mid 70's I was still modifying Schwinn cruisers in the Bay Area of Northern California as folks actually started building "mountain bikes" from scratch and the thing caught on. Riding became more and more restricted, so I moved to Colorado to be next to technical singletrack of the Front Range and began working on mountain bike stunts for film, magazines and television. Dreamride began as a mountain bike film service in Moab in 1996, offering hardcore day tours, slickrock skills clinics and freeride demonstrations to the public on the side. See the mountain bike segment of the popular IMAX film, EVEREST for an example of my production and stunt co-ordination. Dreamride's activities routinely and inherently demonstrate flaws and advantages of various designs. As a direct result of our job, Dreamride bikes are about performance, safety, reliability, ease of maintenance and the highest quality--because they HAVE to be. A Dreamride bike looks like a million and a half bucks because it should. It out-performs because it must--because, being an older rider who guides for a living, I need a serious advantage. Anyone who rides with me knows there is something going on here."
