If you are riding with your buddies in wine country, want to kick their butts and show up at the Inn fresh for a night on the town, we have the tool for the job. If you want to keep the pressure on for an entire century ride or want a bike that will keep you fresh for the sprint, here it is. We cannot give you quads of iron and lungs the size of a whiskey barrel, but we CAN put a perfect machine under you. For 2010, to keep this build at the high water mark for quality and performance, we have chosen the Campagnolo Super Record group (Campy Record, SRAM Red, Shimano Dura Ace and substitute price point combinations remain options at lesser cost). As do all Dreamride builds, the Distance Racer is custom built for you and your needs. The Moots Vamoots and Vamoots Compact are top dog American road frames and deserve the ultimate build possible. The build includes a handbuilt wheelset using Record hubs and Mavic rims with custom DT spokes for each rider. If you choose Dura Ace or SRAM Red, the wheelset is Chris King/Mavic/DT. We also offer wheelset options from Zipp, Campagnolo, Shimano, Bontrager, Easton and Fulcrum. Ask about pricing differences and pros and cons during your order. Fork is Alpha Q 10. We offer saddles from Fizik, Selle Italia, and Brooks. King headset always. The listed price includes FSA Carbon parts to reduce weight effectively. We recommend Moots stem and post, a $400 upgrade to this package, especially if you want the full titanium effect. You can opt to substitute Deda, Cinelli, Thomson, and any number of exotic component brands for cosmetic effect. You may also substitute Zero Gravity brakes for further weight savings. This build can be as light as 15 pounds including pedals and cages. All builds are carefully color-keyed. Several different paint and anodizing options are available for ulitmate personalization, including wild custom paint (example pictured above) by Lee Bridgers, Dreamride owner. Moots Vamoots (Standard or Compact) Price Point Racer
This is what happens when you call and say you want a Moots road bike at a specific price point. While it is not reasonable to expect a new Moots road bike to come in lower than $5500 without compromising performance to the point of being ridiculous, this is the best way to cram as much quality as possible into a specific budget. The bike pictured is an example. It arrived at its parts list within a limit of $6500. When someone calls for a price point build we have many ways to bring the price down that simply don't happen when the job is based on creating paper estimates instead of spending real time on the phone to chase down temporary deals on the best parts for the money. This bike, by chance, benefited from a last minute promotional sale by a distributor whereby we were able to pass along a 50% reduction for the custom grouppo (a mixture of SRAM Rival and SRAM Red). There are also ways to get Campy groups to become reasonable, if you know the parts to combine, and we do! Use of in-stock parts brings pricing down, as well. Compare price, weight and aesthetic choices below to get more understanding of the range of options.
Each bike is given much attention to creative parts selection, then detailed and immaculately build by Lee Bridgers. Shipping in the continental United States is included in any price, except for bikes picked up in Moab.
Compare "Dreamride Edition" Vamoots with a Price Point Build:
Here are two 50cm Moots Compact frames constructed differently and set up with vastly different parts groups. One cost $10.9K, the other, $6.5K. For $10,875 the client got a customized frameset, a labor intensive high quality paint job that will increase in value over the years, a Campy Super Record 8 piece group, a custom handbuilt wheelset with Campy Record hubs and bladed spokes, a lot of attention to cosmetics in the parts group, and enough exotic carbon fiber to bring the total weight down to 15.5 pounds. Dreamride Edition bike clients also get invites to stay and ride with us in Moab. For $6,500 the price point bike weighs less than a pound more (16.3 pounds total weight with pedals). It has a SRAM Rival group spiced with a SRAM Red crankset, a Moots ti seatpost, a Fizik Arione saddle, an FSA Wing Pro handlebar, Thomson stem and a Dreamride wheelset with Chris King hubs. The good news is that both clients are very happy with their choices. It is all about priorities. If you can afford to invest in a fine art paint job and a Super Record group, you will be very, very happy. If you choose to get a straight up stock Moots frame built with a solid Dreamride parts pick that will not break the bank, you will also be very happy.

With the price of gas going up, we are putting new focus on commuter bikes that are fun to ride and can handle recreational and practical duties outside of the road to and from work. Below is our "Loop" parts kit, a fantastic all-around bicycle that can handle century rides and, with the right Moots frame, will handle off-road trails. If wet or very cold weather is an issue with your commute, Moots has recently released a Rohloff and fender kit that turns our Loop build into a storm chaser.
This build was inspired by Moab's chip seal, cracked and pot-holed, super-steep or boring flat, stupid twisty or arrow-straight miles-on-end, desert hot or arctic cold, remote backroads, and the temptation to scoot off-road. A Mountain Road (also known as the "La Sal Loop") build handles rough and difficult road conditions, allowing you to enjoying the scenery without becoming part of it. This rugged build can also serve as a trail/commuter/cyclocross race bike. The Mountain Road's front end usually features Nitto Mustache bars and Dura Ace barcon shifters (options for Ritchey BioMax drop bars with (or without) Paul in-line brake levers and a variety of flat bar systems are listed below with Dirt Road Flyer mods). The stock kit includes a custom Moots ti stem and seatpost. We give you the option to use Thomson parts at a greatly reduced price, but you will eventually want the Moots parts. Dreamride-built wheels come with Chris King or Phil Wood hubs (road classic or cyclocross) and Mavic Open Pro road, CX or A-series rims. We use a custom mixture high end drivetrain components that can be straight-up road, combinations of road and mountain, or straight-up CX. An FSA Carbon MEGA-EXO double or triple crankset in compact or standard, or an FSA hollow aluminum cross crank, is mated to a brutally strong, fast shifting and easily serviced Conex Wipperman chain. Zero Gravity (road) or Paul (Neo-Retro or Touring) brakes stop the bike (see below for disc brake option with the Psychlo-X frame model). For comfort and longevity we offer Selle Italia, Fizik or, our personal favorite, a Brooks Swallow ti-railed saddle with matching leather bar tape. Depending on the frame and rider, we use Alpha-Q or Reynolds carbon forks. The build produces a classic looking, speedy, momentum-building road or road/cross or cross/mountain hybrid that treats your body with respect and courtesy. It's about going faster, safer, efficiently and more reliably in comfort and style. If you live in an urban environment--like San Francisco, Marin, DC, Portland or Seattle--this bike is going to be faster than your car. If you were ever a bike messenger, you will dearly love this build. Road versions are around 18.5 pounds with pedals. Cyclocross-style bike pictured is 20.5 pounds. Mountain/Cross versions are around 21 pounds (more rubber). If you want a way to safely carry your paperwork, lunch and/or extra clothing, you can have fender and rack mounts, a set of full fenders and a custom rear rack, or we can include a Soma bike messenger bag, the most effective commuter accessory available. A Vamoots frame with the Mountain Road build is a road tourer that will keep you fresh on a century ride. The Loop is not meant as a road racer, but in some situations it is as faster than a drop bar bike, and it is always friendlier in traffic. This is the most comfortable classic road bike you are going to find anywhere! With the Psychlo-X frame the La Sal Loop Road is a fantastic all-around BICYCLE!--a city commuter that can easily perform those simple, yet abusive maneuvers that help you AVOID traffic. With or without YBB suspension, it can be your weekend singletrack bike that can get you to the trail and back, as well. With YBB, you will find rooted singletrack to be a breeze--lock it out when you don't need it (use it to load the spring with or without sag to tweak geometry on the fly).
The La Sal Mountain Loop Road build can combine the best of mountain, road, cyclocross and city bike technology to build a bike that will serve many tasks, among them CX racing. With Moots' Psychlo-X frame is so close to their Mooto-X 29er that we can piece together parts from both to produce a bike that can handle any road challenge, carriage trails, fire roads and technical singletracks. This build can produce a fine cyclocross racing bike that can double as your century bike, road tourer and mountain bike. You will end up commuting to work on it because it will beg you to do so. Choose between drop CX bars with Paul in-line levers, titanium flat bars with barends, Dreamride Moots custom 14 degree titanium flat bars, or Nitto Mustache bars. The trick wheelset is handbuilt at Dreamride and features Chris King or Phil Wood hubs, Mavic rims to suit your weight and specific use, and DT spokes. Choose between two brake Paul brake caliper designs, or we can spec Magura Marta SL discs. We always use a Chris King headset to match the hubset. Cranks from Shimano, Campagnalo or FSA are chosen for specific use, budget, your weight and riding style and the overall look of the bike. We would like to see the bike get a Brooks saddle, but you can choose from Selle Italia, Fizik and others. Expect the complete package with build, shipping costs and hardshell flight case to be close to the price listed above.

The Comooter is a new frame and parts kit from Moots. It includes a specific Moots titanium Comooter frame, Moots stem-bars-post, full fenders, Rohloff rear hub internal gearing system, Magura Louise disc brakes, Brooks Swallow steel railed saddle, custom rear rack, King headset, Campy Chorus crankset and a custom lighting system. We will build and ship the complete bike to you for $600 additional (no tax out of Utah--a significant savings over a local purchase). Dreamride will upgrade the kit with Magura Marta brakes and a Brooks titanium railed Swallow saddle (combo lowers weight by almost two pounds) for $395! We will also custom build the frame and kit to reduce the weight by 5 pounds by ditching the Rohloff and disc brake systems to include modifications from our own "Super Commuter," the La Sal Loop build.
