We work with Moots to offer a range of frame options and modifications specific to 29 inch wheels. In 2009 the Gristle is a stock 69er frame, eliminating the need for custom fees to get a 69 Moots. With or without custom fees, you can have a fully rigid 9er or 96er, a YBB suspension compensated 29er or 69er, or a 4" full suspension 29er or 69er. Testing over the past six years has given us an excellent understanding of the range of rider styles and bodies that can take advantage of specific wheel and suspension combinations. We have versions of the MAX build specific to each riders needs for every frame choice, including three 69er and three 29er wheel builds. Scroll down for pricing. The Dreamride MAX kit is the top end group we dress these kings of 29-inch-wheel mountain bike category! Just for your information, YBB is perfect for a 9er set-up, offering just enough suspension for comfort and performance. And the Zirkel rear end on a 29er, and especially on a custom Zirkel 69er, is the place the arcing rear suspension design belongs. The Zirkel is good as titanium/aluminum combo gets for quite a few riders (those who fit the height and weight range). The big wheels already offer their own version of small bump absorption. YYB simply adds a cherry on top. Zirkel takes it to the next level. These are the ultimate big wheel bikes for those looking for the absolute highest quality 9er frame and a no-compromise tested build, or the option for a 26 inch rear wheel (something we have come to consider the best option for most mountain bike situations). The Mooto-MAX is available in the configuration pictured here with a suspension fork (Pace RC40 or Rock Shox Reba) and rear softail suspension (YBB), or you can opt for rigid front (Pace RC31). We can even order your Mooto-X frame to our own specs as fully rigid without the suspension compensated front geometry and with a custom front fork handbuilt for us by Ventana. Moots Mooto-X: Hardtail, YBB & Zirkel
This is the extreme top end kit for the Mooto-x frames, custom or otherwise. The MAX creates a light, fast, strong and very technically capable 29er mountain bike. The Max includes the best current 9er front fork and all the very best components from Shimano or SRAM (full XTR or XTR/X.O combo), Chris King, Magura, Mavic, and Moots. We only offer 29er builds with the best wheelset we can build. It would be irresponsible to do otherwise! See the grouppo below.
We also offer custom sizing and detailing of Mooto-X frames to include a 26 inch rear wheel, Rohloff or Singlespeed options. Our custom Moots rigid, hardtail, YBB and Dreamride Moots Gristle Full Suspension 69er customs (26 inch front wheel, 29 rear wheel) are based on Moab testing and our specific geometry configuration. We specialize in 69er frames and builds, producing our own, so this is the place to get the right geometry and very best parts and wheels on your exotic custom Moots 69er. All Mooto-X MAX bikes are built by company owner, Lee Bridgers.
MAX GROUPPO: XTR cranks, Magura Marta SL hydraulic brakes; custom-color keyed Chris King hubs and headset; Moots titanium seatpost and stem; Moots titanium flat bars (stock Moots or our own Dreamride custom bars manufactured by Moots); XTR shifter pods, cassette, chain, and derailleurs; WTB Pure V Stealth or Pure V Gel saddle (Selle Italia saddles may be substituted at additional cost); Mavic rims, DT spokes and nipples to suit your body weight (see MAX-Reducer below for wheels specific to that kit); Oury lock-on grips; kevlar beaded tires to suit your trails and use.
69er Custom, Singlespeed, Rohloff and rim brake options ~ rigid and YBB versions only: Opt for Paul rim brakes and/or a singlespeed drivetrain with the new Moots' Slider drop-outs at no additional cost as part of MAX build. Rohloff option is $1000 additional. There is a reduction in price for use of a rigid fork. Deduct $580 to substitute XT for all XTR parts in the kit.
SUSPENSION FORK: Our fork choice in 2008 is the Fox F29 in 80, 100, or 120 mm.
Above pricing includes hardshell flight case, shipping, handling and insurance in the continental 48 states. No tax out of Utah! Free wire transfers.
MAX-Reducer pricing substitutes XT drivetrain components, Magura Marta brakes, and uses WTB Stout kevlar beaded tires, DT straight gauge spokes and brass nipples, standard derailleur cables. The price includes shipping in the 48 states, but does NOT include the hardshell flight case. All other components in the MAX kit are included (see MAX grouppo above). Moots stem, bar and post remain stock items! No tax out of Utah! We avoid risking damage to the bike in shipment by sending it to you in a loaner flight case that you then ship back to us using our UPS account (we include return shipping label with the bike). Since we are cutting every corner to get this price as low as possible, MAX-Reducer clients must utitilize wire transfer or personal check for payment. Credit cards literally push pricing up on every product you buy. If you choose to use a credit card for payment, add $300 to the pricing listed above.

Dreamride bikes are labors of love that can be based on a custom frame. If you want us to work with Moots to present you with a non-suspension-compensated fully rigid Mooto-X, a custom sizing or custom frame detailing, you will not be disappointed.
The Moots Gristle bike above and below are the same bike. This project was custom designed to replicate our Dreamride White Rim ti bike with a Moots quality frame. This bike can be converted from 26 and 29 inch combo bike with a suspension fork to a full 29 wheel set up with road tires and a rigid fork without any problems with geometry quirks. This is the way to get the best of all worlds with a Moots quality frame. Have a great off-road bike with all the advantages of both wheel sizes that converts into a city bike with 700c wheels. This is a Dreamride original project.
