BOWLBY'S DREAMRIDE FULLY
Access all the photos of your bike by click on BOWLBY FULLY PICTURES. REAR SHOCK:This is the single most important part of this bike. I had to get it direct from Fox after a long wait and a boat load of money just to have it before it goes to the OE accounts. It finally came in just before your frame. It defines the bike, more or less. I put one on my Fully, too. It is the first air shock with the stroke necessary for 6" of travel and it really works great. I am setting the shock at your weight plus 15 pounds, which worked for me. I will set the rebound moderate and match the fork. The bottom out chamber of the shock is set as it was from the factory. Ride it a while like that, then open the chamber all the way up (the bottom knob with the holes in the knurling--read the manual--note the maximum air setting during adjustment!), to see how that feels, too. You'll get the picture. Adjust to your tastes. REad that manual and keep tuning it until you get it right. Remember the air pressure settings. I am including a pair of air pumps that will help you adjust the fork and the shock just right. The rocker is in the way of the positive air valve, so you are going to have to remove the bolt and slide the shock out of the way to adjust it. Be careful not to let it fall against the frame while you are adjusting. Put a towel around it or something.FORK:I set the air chamber pressures on the fork for your weight. The negative chamber (fork height and travel) is set extended for the 6" setting in the rear. If you want to lower the rear end travel to 5" (the hole at the end of the rocker), for tight smooth singletrack, I suggest lowering the fork to around 120mm or less to maintain quick handling. If you want it to feel more point and shoot, then run the fork at 130mm with the rocker in the 5" setting--very stable feel. I balanced the handling for 6", so I'll bet you stick with that. though. It will climb well over roots in its 6" realm and turn quickly enough.HANDLEBARS:Careful with the clamps. It IS carbon fiber, even if it the strongest one I could find.MORE:Weight of the bike without pedals is 29 pounds. Go to UNPACKING for info on putting things back together. If there is something you need to know, just call or email. I put the bisquit eggbeater pedals on the bike because they were BLUE!, though I don't really think the performance is as good as the open eggbeaters. If you want me to exchange them, just let me know. I'll send you some standards stainless eggbeaters. The handlebar and stem were chosen for stiffness and a level of strength. The Moots Open Road OS stem was just not up to these bars, which are the best bars I have ever put on a bike. They are stupid light and strong enough for DH racing. The front end is much more responsive because of these parts.
